Chapter 12 : 为腹不为目

Fulfillment rather than accumulations

The dazzling display of colours, can blind us; the multitudes of sounds, can deafen us. That which is rare, causes unnecessary desires. The wise ones settle for the necessity and not long for extrinsic enticement.

Do not seek or act, for the purpose of accumulations; learn to ‘let go’ and gather what is needed. Fill one self with the true essences of life, waste not on the frivolous.
